How much does it cost to hire a bike?
An e-bike costs €32.50 per day, the E-bike Premium €42.50, a mountain bike €30 (24 inch children's bike €25), the Luxe Unifiets €22.50 and the Transportfiets €18.50. The longer you hire, the cheaper it gets: from the third day you pay €5 less per day for an e-bike and €2.50 less per day for the other bikes. You will see the exact price straight away when you book.
How do I book?
Choose your start date and the number of days on the website, then enter the height of each rider. You will immediately see what is available and what it costs. You pay online with iDEAL (Dutch online banking) and receive a confirmation by email. There is no need to create an account.
Where do I collect the bike?
At Grondel 11 in Hoogeveen, or by appointment at Summio De Marke van Ruinen (Gijsselterweg 30). We can also deliver the bikes to your holiday address: this costs €25 plus €0.30 per kilometre. Please get in touch about delivery before you book.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, €75 per bike. You pay it when you collect the bike and get it back when the bike is returned in good condition.
Which size do I need?
When you book, you enter each rider's height and we choose the size. The e-bike comes in size M (up to 180 cm) and L (180 to 190 cm). The mountain bikes range from 24 inch for children aged 5 to 8 (115 to 130 cm) up to size XL (185 to 200 cm). Not sure? Give us a call or send us a WhatsApp message.
Can I hire a helmet?
Yes, for €3.50 per day. Just tick the box for each rider when you book.
Can I hire a child seat or pannier bag?
Yes. A front child seat costs €4 per day, a rear child seat €5 per day and a pannier bag €5 per day. Also handy: a bottle of water (€5) or sports drink (€7). You can choose them under Extras when you book.
What pedals do the mountain bikes have?
Flat pedals as standard. On request we can fit SPD pedals, or your own pedals. Just mention it in the comments field when you book.
How far can I go on an e-bike?
With the 400Wh battery, about 60 km in tough conditions (wind, lots of assistance), 110 km in good conditions and up to 150 km in ideal conditions.
Do you have bikes for children?
Yes. The 24 inch mountain bike is for children aged 5 to 8 (115 to 130 cm) and the 27.5 inch (XS) is for riders from 130 to 140 cm.
What if the weather is bad?
Then you rebook for free. Up to 24 hours in advance you can move your booking to another day at no cost. Just call or WhatsApp us. Cancelling is not free in bad weather, the normal rules apply: up to a week ahead you get a full refund, up to 72 hours ahead we charge 25% of the rental price (minimum €25). After that there is no refund.
